Free Breakfast!!

FREE BREAKFAST!

March 5th – 9th is National School Breakfast Week and to emphasize the importance of breakfast the Spooner Area School District Food Service Department will again be offering a free breakfast to every student.

Middle School students will be offered their free breakfast on Tuesday, March 6th.

Elementary School students, who normally receive a cold, bagged breakfast, will be offered a hot breakfast on Wednesday, March 7th.  In cooperation with the physical education department, students will be able to eat breakfast in the gymnasium, where lunch is also served.

High School students will have only the hot breakfast option but it will be offered at the serving time before school and at the mid-morning “Grab-N-Go” time on Thursday, March 8th.   

This is the fourth year that SASD’s food service department has sponsored this program, with funding for two of the past years coming from grants from the Department of Public Instruction.  The food service department feels that it is important to stress the educational value of breakfast, so they are covering the costs with Food Service Fund monies.  The Food Service Fund is completely self-sustaining and receives no local tax dollars.

The menu for all three schools on their “free” day will be a breakfast sandwich, milk and juice.  We hope that all students will take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy a nutritious, hot breakfast at school.
